I was aware of it via general news though - it has been talked about on the forum boards, in local papers and on the national news a few times.
There is a lot of public support for deterring property owners from leaving homes empty. The 100% extra CT is just one of a number of measures aimed at this particular problem. Our local council have a whole team of Empty Homes Officers who work with property owners to find solutions to leaving property empty. Why don't you see if your council have a similar team? They might be able to find a solution for you - after 2 years on the market, it clear you aint going to sell any time soon.
Yeah we still have the old council tax bill, even the one from March 2019, and there was no notification of an increase0 -
Would the council buy your property off you??An answer isn't spam just because you don't like it......0

The OP isn't short of potential buyers.diggingdude wrote: »Would the council buy your property off you??
It's just that the OP's idea of the value is out of step with everybody else's.0 -
We have talked to them about it, but it doesn’t meet there full criteria so they wouldn’t buy it.diggingdude wrote: »Would the council buy your property off you??0 -

We just for fun had a survey once, price the council wanted it at? 50% less than it sold for within a year.0 -
If I were the OP, I would give up trying to sell, and I'd get a tenant. Even if they don't pay much rent, they'll be responsible for CT.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
