i'm trying to switch to RBS tonight to get the offer however I have tried to complete the online application, i got to the stage it says I qualify for the account but there is nowhere for me to put in details of what account i'm switching from thus it seems they are just treating it as me opening a bank account & not switching.
it did ask if i already have a bank account & i wasnt sure if it mean like ANY bank account or an RBS account. Even so when i clicked yet it only asked me for the date that account was open not if i wanted to switch that account.
I can abandon the current application but they've already run a credit check. I'm ONLY switching for the bonus so if i cant go via the switch process i'm not moving.
has anyone done this online before with RBS???

HI, after that page it asks you if you'd like to switch your existing account0

Looking at the criteria it says we have to pay in £1500 by 2nd August. Presumably it only needs to stay in there for an instant? Or should I leave it there until 2nd August or until the bonus is paid?0

Unless it states that you need to maintain a minimum balance of £1500, then I don't see why you can't pay in £1500 then immediately pay it back out again - most other banks (including NatWest) operate that way for meeting their minimum monthly pay in requirements.0
