How soon can I switch away?

Options
I switched to Halifax at the end of last year to get their insecntive of £135 - £50 upfront and £85 6 months later.
The £85 has just gone into my account a few days ago and I had planned on staying but I can see that RBS are currently offering £175 to switch but only until midnight tonight.
Could Halifax take back my bonus if I now switch away from them given it would literally only be days after the bonus was paid!?

Your full switch incentive is now banked and Halifax cannot 'reclaim' the cash. Go ahead and do the RBS switch for your next cash incentive... :)
I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.

    I love my job

Better get your skates on or you'll be too late. Hopefully they'll be able to identify you electronically

The only incentive offer I know of where they state a minimum time the account needs to be open for after the bonus is paid is the refer a friend bonus for Nationwide. Otherwise unless explicitly stated in the T&Cs, once the incentive has been paid then the money is yours and there is no further requirement to keep the account open.

Best get your RBS switch started quick smart then!

I know the deadline is fast approaching but why is everyone saying to be quick, as long as I do it before midnight won't it be ok?

    have applied.
what a faff it was thought.
it says my application was submitted but also states "We just need a little more information before we can activate your account and we will contact you with what remaining documents are required."

however the t&c state to qualify you need to apply for an acc by midnight on 28/6. it doesnt say your application needs to be approved/completed by that date.

fingers crossed otherwise this was a complete was of time & i now have an account i dont need. if they hold a carry on I'll just use that as the current ac to switch away from & try go to HSBC for their incentive.

Forgot to note down how much the switch incentive was and when the payments are due. Is it £75 once account funded then a different sum after a year? It was the offer that expired towards end of June 2019.
