Hotpoint fridge faulty in under 3 years, hotpoint refuse to repair for free

Now i need some advise because im 100% certain i saw that there are laws regarding this that all electrical appliances must have at least 3 years warranty for faults.
But Hotpoint are claiming anything over 6 months old is not faulty and I must pay for an engineer and parts.
(even though I signed up to the 10 years free parts thing)
Was i wrong is there no such laws?

So i have no protections at all to call on?0

As above no such law.
Warranty is an extra subject to any terms Hotpoint want .#
Consumer Rights against the vendor see stickie top of page.0 -
If you can show it is an inherent fault (by getting an independent inspection) then the retailer (probably not Hotpoint - where did you buy it?) has the choice of repairing it, replacing it or refunding you, although for the latter two options they are entitled to make an allowance for the three years' use you've had.
