I have received an AGM notice in the post.
Usually I just discard these as it’s just a place to keep my money if the interest rate is fair.
This time I have taken time to read this one.
Some quite interesting information and the meeting if attended has lunch!
Has anyone here actually attended a building society AGM and if so is it worth it?
I have taken time to vote for and against several things and will send it in the post!

Mine lets me vote online.
I have never attended an AGM because the cost of getting there would outweigh any meal offered.0 -

I am interested to know who actually turns up to these AGMs.
I also voted against the appointment of two directors because I feel their pay is too much. If the society were offering more and a better rate than competitors then I’d feel they are doing their job. But rates seem pretty standard as do the types of account.0 -
I went to the AGM of a small regional building society just over 10 years ago. Coffee and biscuits were on offer on that occasion.
I went because I had never attended a building society AGM before. It was much tamer than an ordinary company AGM , with no new commercial ventures or updates to discuss and no awkward questions at the end.
I imagine that many people attending a building society AGM just happen to live nearby.0
