Loans and grants help.

Hi! I'm currently on contribution based ESA and PIP standard rate. I'm 30 weeks pregnant and due to move into a 2 bedroom house as my current property will be overcrowded. I've read that I won't be able to get a budgeting loan and may not be able to get a sure start maternity grant either. Is there any other loans or grants I can apply for? Thank you 😀.

CB ESA doesn't entitle you to any loans or grants. Do you live with a partner that works?

Do you also need to claim for help with your rent?

    Look at https://grants-search.turn2us.org.uk/

But as poppy says, often eligibility for occupational / local charities grants is linked to receipt of a means tested benefit.

Freecycle and local FB freebie groups are great for getting baby equipment and clothes. The only exception that I would make are cot mattress and car seats.

If you have identified a charity, it may be that the charity will want a referral from CAB or similar.

Also the referring organisation can also help fill out the application forms for you as they will be more familiar with the criteria. See if there is an advice organisation close by who may be able to refer you quickly.
