I agree, that the OP did not appear to have used all available methods to make a payment.I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.

There are other ways around security questions even when addresses cannot be verified.
Something doesn't add up
This also fails to address why the OP did not do anything for several months whilst having a balance outstanding - yes they did attempt but left at failed first attempt. Looks like they raised a complaint but only after the debt had been passed to a debt collector!0 -
Unfortunately I have previously logged a complaint in regards to this and I’m still waiting for an update. I’ve tried writing, emailing & calling but due to ‘not being able to pass security’ I have never been able to discuss anything. I have not had anything with an account number on up until the last few months so have been unable to go into a bank and pay as I wasn’t going to pay anything with a direct link to my account as I wouldn’t feel comfortable doing that.
As I’ve been told by several people when I have called, nothing can be discussed without the correct confirmation of the address. I’ve given them every address I have ever had & still this does not match. I was told last week I would be given an update by today & nothing has happened. So I called them again today and went through the same issues and as they have ‘no direct number’ to put me through to discuss it & that my call has been logged. I received a letter today from the debt manager company to state that my debt has been taken back by studio and would not be hearing from them again. Even now I am trying to pay/discuss/sort out and still cannot get through.
Thanks for all the non-concern, I have been trying to deal with this since it happened however I have NEVER been able to get through in any way, shape or form. I obviously wasn’t clear above. I have tried several times since jan 18 ish to the end of last summer to contact and each time never got anywhere so tried again the next month but as was stated nothing was ever received acknowledging my correspondence. So whoever cannot add up stating that it was 2 years and no wonder they are Perusing it, I kindly ask to Learn to add up. If I cannot get through in writing, email or phone to pay (& as discussed above would not be happy to pay in the bank without an account number) I’m not entirely sure what else I can do. With all due respect you haven't really tried to deal with this, you had at least two ways to pay without passing security and for whatever reason didn't do it. The excuse, and it is an excuse, of not wanting them to have your bank details is silly.
In my opinion you should really just accept that you screwed up and move on.0 -
I called this morning for an update as it is just over 8 weeks...
As it's been more than eight weeks since your complaint to Studio you can take it to the FOS.

I have a studio account but very rarely use it due to the astonomical P&P. So I do know that if you order something, they do send statements and rubbish quite often. Did you not have a statement or an old one lying around that you could have used to pay it?
You could have used the account info of the statement to pay via faster payment from your own bank account.
I'm not being rude but there is always ways and means to get around paying for something, might take some searching, googling etc.0 -
