Carers allowance following a death

Hello all,
My father sadly passed away at the beginning of June, we used the tellusonce service when we registered his death. I was receiving carers allowance for him and understood this can continue for 8 weeks following the death, I was expecting only my second payment to happen around todays date 27/06 but nothing has gone in, does anyone know if there is a delay in payments after a death or if you have to wait the 8 weeks for a lump sum? Horrible talking of money after a loved one has passed but the £66 a week was my only income, thankfully i have understanding relatives that are helping me at the moment.
Thanks in advance for any advice and help.

Your best option is to ring the Carer’s Allowance unit and ask them about the payment.
You are correct that you are entitled to an eight week run on (provided you were entitled to CA at the time of death and it had not stopped, for example due to father being in hospital for more than 28 days). The eight week run on is from the Sunday following the death or the date of death if that was on a Sunday.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0 -

It's horrible having to cope with all this stuff straight after a death but you should be looking into what you can claim in your own right.
£66 isn't enough to live on.0
