HMRC can't provide full 5 year work checkable history

1. I'd tell my employer HMRC haven't got what they've asked for. Check that you've asked HMRC the right question (check with your employer) and ask your employer why they need it. You've got references haven't you?


2. As theoretica says (#10) I'd want to find out from HMRC as a matter of urgency why they don't have records for you.

I'm sure they don't because the security companys(3 since 2014) don't deal with HMRC. I was asked to go self employed by the 2nd one company I was with in 2015 for 8 months and since they HMRC have hounded me every year. Before that I was one PAYE for 2 years and now the final and 3rd company as of May 2015 are clearly off the books.

So, as you were self employed, show your new employer copies of your self assessments where you've declared these earnings.

Even though I file returns the company I worked for doesn't show up. I was under the tax bracket but filled them anyway as I kept getting letters after registering in 2015.
