I buy all my 1st class stamps from Rushstamps, the stamp dealer, at 12% discount - all perfectly legal. I think the minimum is probably £100 at a time.
(You can buy £100 of mixed values at £79.)
There's no catch, they are fully gummed, so it's worth it if you use lots of stamps. Check whether you're getting the ones marked '34p' or '1st class' -
    Contact details are:
    www.rushstamps.co.uk
    or by 'phone: 023 8028 2044

(I've got not connection with Rushstamps other than being one of their customers in the past, and where they know me as 'hyphen')

    Hugh Stewart-Smith (that's why!)

Just had a look at the site recommended for cheap sites- rushstamps.co.uk and it is a nightmare to navigate! its so messy & impossible to search for standard stamps- not worth the hassle!!

Inflationproof they are! I'm still using 1st and 2nd stamps that I bought in 2003.

At that time we had a shop and I used the retailer discount card to get an extra 5% off. 500 first and 500 second cost me over £200 and I reckon, four years on that I've now used about half of them.
I love it when Royal mail put the price of postage up, cos it means my 2003 stamps are even better value!
  • sorry, ribbonbow, didn't mention that you can't buy them on-line from Rushstamps, but you can 'phone an order in that's why I put the contact details in.
I buy £3-400-worth at a time for use in business posting.

You have to set this against the amount of interest you would otherwise have earned on the money tied up in the stamps for four years...

    Yeah, but that's illegal!

A stamp is franked to cancel it therefore if it hasnt been franked/cancelled I would assume its still valid.

show me where it says you can only use a stamp once.

OH went and bought 6 packs of 12 stamps. When he came home and looked at them, they all turned out to be Christmas stamps. I don't even know 72 people let alone want to send them cards! :rotfl:

Too late, I might have persuaded him to go back and get them exchanged for "normal" ones! ;)
