Withdraw COC (DLA)

Hi all
I have made i think a very very big mistake and its causing me so much stress. I really need some good advice. My daughter has got an hearing impairment since birth. I applied dla before she turned 2 amd fhey awarded MRC for 5 years which she was rightly entiteld to. 2 months ago i suddenly received a form which stated that i could apply for more money for her to get help for getting around. As she is earing hearing aids she needs constant supervision when out in fear of losing them. She intends to pull them.out when she gets frustrated and needs to be removed to a quiter place to calm down while out in public. Wih no hearing aids she will not be able to understand what a person says unless he uses signs. I thought when i received the forms that she was eligible for mobility that is why i filled the form out end send it to the dla. Now after 4 weeks still no outcome but after some research i found out that she will not be able to get mibility at this age. She is almost 3. This is because she does not receive HRC but MRC. She does not come under the SMI rules. She had an award for 5years MRC rightfully and now i am affraid they might take it all away from her. I send supporting documents last week which are to entitle her MRC but i am affraid they will now lower the rate or take it all away. What is the best thing to do in this situation? I know im in deep s***t now and might have to go for MR if they take her award away from her.

At the moment there's nothing you can do until a decision is made. Once it's made, if you're not happy then you need to request the MR within 1 month of the date of the decision. If that fails and most do then it's Tribunal.
  • If i send them a cover letter. Would that worsen the case? I just didnt know will not be a good enough reason. Why they send the forms? It completely confused as its my first claim. Although to my opinion i have sebd enough proof to be able to keep MRC but will they accept that or rather punish me by giving LRC

It's not about punishment. They will review the award based on the evidence available/provided.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

    Have a read of this.

Mobility DLA cannot be awarded until a child is three years old which is why (presumably) you have been sent the form.

The link explains the criteria for when it is awarded.
  • She does not seem to be eligible for HRM. Althkugh she wouldve been for LRM but she is only 2.5. I feel like i have taken her money away from her, by making such a stupid mistake. Words cant describe how i feel
