How do people live off £317.72 Universal Credit?

I did the maths.
You'd have to run a high pressured shower on the most expensive energy tarrif for just over 26 minutes a day to spend £20 a month on gas.
I mean. I just don't see how I can be spending less than a fiver a month, and others claiming over £20. Something just isn't right.
Gas isn't just for showers. Could be for hot water in general for washing up, cooking and heating.0 -

Yes, washing up uses maybe 4l for a full sink? Nothing. Heating in this weather?! Really? Any money spent on cooking with gas will reduce the electricity bill compared to those with an electric cooker.0 -

Oh yes of course. The standing charge that everyone pays is the reason I'm paying £4 a month and others are claiming its £32. Its nothing to do with them insisting on taking ridiculously long showers and having the heating on full whack for 12 hours a day.0

They still exist? I'm on one cause I use basically nothing.
I did some more maths. It's cheaper to buy a gym membership and sit in a sauna all day than to try to turn your house into one.0 -
What tariff are you on?
Wow, this is so relevant to the thread. You're asking me, someone who has no financial trouble at all, instead of questioning those who are spending 6x what I am and struggling. You're clearly trying to help and not just trying to antagonise me by asking pointless questions.
An SSE PAYG meter, if you must know.0 -

I thought this was a money saving site? Maybe people on here would like to know how you get it so cheap? Perhaps to switch?0 -
