they have been around since 2003
I've been around since 1960, but I wouldn't recommend anyone using me for anything useful (other than hurling abuse at !!!!)'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0 -
I have been reading the posts on GSL and was wondering if anyone had purchased the software and made any money... I have recieved the brochure and have had a couple of calls.
Should I take a gamble or not.

I assume not or they wouldn't still be wasting their time flogging their stuff to the rest of us from a website.0 -
I have just received this glossy leaflet as well.
It's interesting to note that there is a compnay out there that does not want to let you know it's web address-most splash it all over their correspondence!
So I took a look at Company House and put in their company number and found that the company has, as previously mentioned by a fellow poster, been going since 2003. There are no other offices apart from the one in Old Broad Street.
One of the things that put me off this offer is the very hard to read small print at the bottom of page 5 of the glossy brochure, where they say that all they want to do is to sell you a software package. The clue to the non mention of the FSA is probably in the last line, where it is stated that they do not give advice on investments.
So anyway, after all that waffle, my copy is now flying towards the recycling bin!0 -
GSL have good reviews in the Extra Income Finder mag and have awards from the Stockmarket Assoc and The Reviewers trading mag. Is this good or bad? Also I've only read 1 post from someone who actually bought this software and he said it gave adequate returns. Has anyone else actually used thisw package?0

I purchased the Global Shares software a few months ago. I have had nothing but trouble with the software. They have had to send me a replacement. Sometimes the figures it comes up with just don’t add up and they can’t explain it. The aussie guy promised help was always at hand – ONLY if you don't have a 9 to 5 job. When you need help you are obviously using the system at home after hours – exactly when they are not there to help. I assumed support would be available till around 8 or 9pm – when everyone needs it. I have not made a penny so far - in fact have made a loss and if I made the £20,000 (even £2,000) over the 12 months as promised, I will be shocked. Am seriously considering not using the system again. The system rates all of the shares with points – the more points the higher the recommendation to buy. What it DOES NOT tell you is any background on the company or why it recommends it. I also did a dummy trading account with 14 parcels of shares. More have decreased in value than increased in my real and dummy trading portfolios. I expected (as told) that it would also advise you when to sell, but it DOESN’T. It tells you if the stock has gone up or down by a nominated percentage (which I could add up myself with a £2 calculator) and lets you know when the stock has been kept for longer than a nominated period of time (again which I could work out myself with a £0.50p calendar and a pen). I asked them about this and they recommended I look on London Stock Exchanges website at the graphs. I asked why, for £4000/£8000 their program did not have this function if the LSE's website has it for free? They had no sensible answer. I DO NOT recommend anyone purchase this system. It is not what they promise over the phone. I asked for a refund and they recommended I write to Paul Armstrong - not holding my breath.0

I ashamed as i am have also been duped into buying the global share package, only had it about 10 days but results not good. considering trying to get my money back through credit card company based on misrepresentation. When i was contacted by this company they told me they were a large multi-national company with offices over the world, only found out the true company name on the credit card slip to find out that its a small company based in tower 42 etc. Think its going to be difficult one to prove as they do seem to have covered most bases to avoid this. Can only advise anyone not to buy at the moment, how did you get on with getting money back?0

i bought the package. Results were amazing! Amazingly BAD. In fact id be in more debt than imaginable if i used it. I was stupid enough to buy it!
If anyone else has bought it you need to report the problem to Trading Standards.(nothing will happen until there are enough complaints)
The product is exempt from distant selling laws because its financial software but the brochure is deliberately miss-leading and the sales patter is not what it says on the tin.
The brochure, in its hidden font size 4 purple text on a purple background says the software does not recommend and should only be used as a tool. Yet the sales men and support staff say you should trade with the stock code that scores the highest points. The points which are assigned by the software (therefore, the software is recommending).
I rang up and asked if this is just a "tool" to supplement, how do i use the recommended trade to help me trade? The answer was weak. I was told to find a graph and see if the trend was going up or down. I found it hard not to laugh back especially as i was also told the software works by finding undervalued stock that's about to recover (i.e. its at the bottom of a downward trend) Others call this catching the falling knife. You just dont do it.
Stop these A**H***S and complain to trading standards.0 -
I made the mistake of buying this terrible product in May 2008.
My best advice is - AVOID THIS PRODUCT LIKE THE PLAGUE.
I think it is useless. I decided this within a few days of receiving it. I complained immediately to Global Shares, My Credit Card Company and trading standards.
As soon as I complained Global Shares stopped taking my calls and did not reply to my letters.
I started a Small Claims process against both Global Shares and the credit card company. After months of foot dragging from Global Shares, this week I got a judgement against them and they now have 14 days to give me my money back with some costs.
If you have lost money you can fight them – in fact they do not bother to fight. They seem to sit back and hope that you give up before the lengthy process ends. They did not put up any defence whatsoever in court – largely because they do not have a defence.
The process is simple but time consuming.
If you are interested in claiming money back just reply to this post and I will happily post details of the process.
Once again - AVOID THIS PRODUCT. But if you have already bought it, don't give up - try to get you money back0 -
