UKPC - Excess of minimum stay time

Hi,

So a driver has had issues before with Crown Point shopping centre in Leeds, but last time it was for leaving the property which they got a window ticket for and on the 26 th day they sent UKPC the blue letter which they didn't even reject just withdrew. Scammers!! :T

Anyways how have been sent 2 letters each for different occurrences of staying over the maximum stay time of 3 hours, each about an hour above!

So should the driver do the same as previously and wait 26 days from issue date or can they send something straight away as this was informed to me by post?

Also not sure if it's worth making this point but the car park has 2 entrances 2 exits, the most popular ones (entry|exit) being at the front have cameras BUT the back ones don't. Technically the driver could have come in the front one left out the back come back later through the back and exited out the front. Thus they accumulated 4 hours but they could have been there for 15 minutes!

Is this worth mentioning at this time or wait a bit? Lastly these 2 letters are the first ones so no POPLA numbers or anything like that.

Side note: today I spotted a parking scammer watch some workers park their van walk past him and go into a sport shop. As soon as they were in the shop he marched his way to the van!! I went into the sport shop to tell them not sure what the out come of that was but I mentioned to them to check out moneysavingexpert forum :A

You should edit your post to remove any hint of who could have done what. Only ever refer to The Driver and The Keeper, who are two different people.

The Driver could have come and gone via different routes. ;)

Once you have done that, read the sticky thread for NEWBIES then send the appeal template in blue text you will find there.
Waiting until day 26 is only when a NTD has been left, or railway byelaws cases.

If/when the appeal is rejected appeal to PoPLA using all the points available from post 3 of the NEWBIES plus the ability for a motorist to leave and return without passing a scamera.

What happened when you complained to the landowner/retail manager/store managers?

Have you complained to your MP yet about this unregulated scam.

  • Thanks, It's a massive car park and sure they scam plenty of people on a daily basis!!
was using location to let others know as I couldn't find anything when I searched the forum.

will use the blue text template straight away, just wasn't sure if it differed when receiving a letter.

assume there is no need to mention exits etc.
