You're in a very similar position to me. I've been gifted £20k and £30k more to follow. I can't overpay a mortgage (Mortgage free) and I've maxed out all the decent available current accounts / regular savers.
I took advice from here and put £20k into last years S&S ISA I went for one of the Vanguard LifeStrategy funds (Buy and forget), I'll put £20k into this years S&S Isa (either into the Vanguard LifeStrategy or similar global funds) and I'm going to open a SIPP (personal pension) with the other £10k.GOAL:- £450k in Savings by March 2028 SAVINGS: – £402,431 COMPLETE GOALS - Debt Free, Mortgage Free, £400k Savings Save 12k in 2026 #21 = £9479 / £25,0000 -
Thanks all! Helpful advice
Will keep on reading the advice on here and elsewhere! I've always thought I'm pretty good with money with no debt and decent savings but not so good at the forward planning!! 0
