It's all a bit of a game.
You can cancel your switch within the first 14 days, so if its early on that is an option.
Obviously if you are on a really expensive tariff ATM, then confusing the systems could well cause a balls up and leave you on an expensive tarriff for more weeks than required!
I've been there, thankfully not on an expensive tariff.
I think prices are on the rise again.0 -
Bulb may be competive for you and, if you head over to the Referrers' board and sign up using someone's link, both you and they receive a £50 credit on your accounts....
If none of my suggestions above are competitive for you, please consult a comparison site to find the best deal for you. If you head over to Quidco and use their comparison service, you will earn £40 cashback with many, many suppliers :money:0 -
Be very aware that Quidco cash back offers can be on very expensive tariffs.
For example
British Gas "£110 cashback
for HomeEnergy Secure Green Oct 2021 (Dual Fuel) (excluding Safeguard pay as you go tariff) - New Customers Only"
For my usage, that would cost me £300 per year MORE than my current deals (I use 2 suppliers). So in year 1, I would only pay £190 more, in year 2 £300 more.
BG have a deal "Energy Plus Boiler Cover Green June 2020" that would only cost £77 per year more with £30 cash back to reduce the losses to £47.
(Comparison prices from MSE CEC)
So if it's too good to be true, it probably is.0 -
Ofgem previously banned energy companies from offering cashback via cashback sites due to finding people were paying more.

OFGEM seemingly subsequently backed down under pressure

Quite right too. Some of us are intelligent enough not to require a nanny state simplification of the market.
If deal 1 less cashback has a different cost to deal 2, it doesn't take a genius to work out which one to choose, does it?0
