So you didnt submit a defence, essentially
You didnt answer the questions about whether they can hold the company liable or not.0 -
So no defence then, just a WS as a defence in the defence box
Doesn't look good then and you could have provided the claimant with an easy win which is their whole business model which has nothing to do with parking per se
The idea is that they invoice people for any perceived rule breaking or minor transgression and set people up to fail
Then they use the court system to tie people up in knots and threats of a CCJ to bully extortionate amounts of money bearing no resemblance to the issue in hand and honour doesn't come into it
Poor advice and going it alone in unfamiliar territory without a map made things worse for you, like going to the doctor one year after finding a lump, instead of at early intervention stage
I think you have burned your bridges and so have no way out, playing into their hands of amateur versus professional
You need to learn from this saga because you will get more private PCN,s and need to learn the processes, even after the new CoP arrives later this year
We still don't know if they are holding a company liable or not0 -
@RedX
Yes, that's the answer I was fearing but seeking.
I think I'll pay up this time and be better prepared to fight the next one.
Sad state of affairs when the truth has no bearing on the outcome in a court of law but as you say, a good lesson to have learnt.

One last thought. If you pay one fine do other agencies find out and bombard you with historical charges (I believe they can do so up to 6 years later).
If that is a risk, is there a way to keep payment confidential ?0 -
Whoever is named as the defendant should submit a SAR to the PPC to find out if there are any more PCNs in the pipeline.0
