Tesco offered to triple my annual cost, when nothing changed, so I too left.

Hi KMCottrell, could you send me a message about this to callum.mason@moneysavingexpert.com. This goes for others affected by similar ridiculous auto renewal quotes as well.

Thats why you should diarise the renewal dates and follow the MSE step by step guide for comparing and getting best deals for insurance

We’re with Aviva. Our quote was lower this year.

I live in flats and three years ago, United Utilities persuaded me to take out a policy with HomeServe to protect me from a burst water tank and water damage affecting flats below me, plumbing leaks etc. My premium was £96. One year later it went up by more than 25% to £127. Last year it went up to £180 and I didn't notice until after I'd paid. That was almost double! I cancelled my DD immediately and told them I wouldn't be renewing. I'm now looking for a better policy - and a cheaper one.

Aviva are correct in stating that their renewal prices are identical to new customers - I tried quotes as "both"

My renewal this year is £330 for 2 cars / 2 drivers - up from £325 last year !
