Here is something cheap that fits the criteria; https://mcscom.co.uk/product/dell-latitude-3480-i3-7100u-2-40ghz-8gb-128gb-ssd-14-fhd-win-10-pro-1yr-rtb-wty-mll591/ £2000

How did I ignore the advice?! I looked for refurbed with a SSD drive as GDB2222 suggested? The one grumpycrab suggested has sold out as had the one you suggested?
At the post of writing the original post, I was just researching and not in a position to jump in and buy. I complied the list of the back of the advice from this and other refurbed laptop threads - sorry if it isn't up to your standards.0 -

This looks great - thank you!

I'm sure you've already ruled it out, but have you considered a desktop PC? I'd always prefer the comfort and ergonomics of a desktop over a laptop -- especially if you're going to the hassle of using an external keyboard and mouse.0

I went down the refurbished route (Dell Latitude 3480 i5 6200U 2.30GHz 8Gb 128Gb SSD 14" HD Win 10 Pro 1Yr RTB WT for just over £200 inc VAT) but unfortunately the item I bought kept having issues so is being sent back.
I have not been put off buying refurbished but any recommendations for reputable refurb sellers would be appreciated. The seller I bought from has been very helpful and service has been good but they don't have anything of similar spec for which to exchange for right now.
Looking to spend about the same about so any specific recommendations would also be gratefully received
That doesn't look to be either of the devices to which I linked. The specs don't match.0 -

The post you've quoted (which I saw this morning) also seems to have disappeared.

I am looking to buy a laptop which will mainly be used by my daughter who is starting secondary school in September. Aside from school work, it would probably only be used for internet browsing and MS Office applications. What technical specifications do I need to look out for please? I would ideally like something which will last a few years. Budget is up to £300 and I am happy to buy refurbished or new - whichever gets me the better laptop!
(We currently have an ASUS Transformer Book T100 but this will be too small for kiddo to work on for any length of time plus we have pretty much run out of storage on it!)
Any advice welcomed.
Have sent you a PM. Use the code Popular20 to get it for £208, if you decide to go for it.0 -
