    I think these days, bedsits have been re-packed as ''bespoke HMOs'' - for the ''Young Professional'', obviously.

    Thankfully Saint Tony of Blair arrived and extended the drinking hours.
    We now have a Mediterranean Cafe Culture in our city centres each evening. No more fights outside the chip shop at 11pm.

    Which means, tragically, that there's even less to do in Blackburn or Harrogate on a Saturday night.
  • I worry. Which is why I have gently herded one son through the application for a Help to Buy ISA & plan to lug the other two through the same hoops...

    I want to think of them in a place of their own, but I can't afford to help much other than by making sure they've got the most help available!

    Financial education is important.
    But unfortunately, the UK has a culture that completely ignores and even disparages it.
