Is it safe to leave a Saniflo switched off?

Hi all, I have a question about Saniflo. Ours has started leaking due to a crack. Had to get an emergency plumber out today (Ouch :/ ) He has switched it off and stopped the leak, so it cannot be used at the mo. It's not our main toilet, so that's fine. He said a new one would be £550 fitted -
which I just can't afford. However he said you can't leave them switched off for too long. Does anyone know if this is the case? Like I literally can't afford to replace it this year! Is it safe to leave it? Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

    Where is the crack?
Have you checked to see if it's still under warranty?
Perhaps you can try a fuse type crack repair with a soldering iron and a flat spade tip?
Personally I've not heard of issues leaving them off but I guess all the Waste is sitting in the Vertical outlet pipe and effectively drying out whilst in there!!
Could be an idea if the Plumber didnt already to do a flush through with water only a few times.

I don't know that much about them, apart from roughly how they work.
What I did wonder is whether the tanks is available as a spare. Don't know if this is the right one but

If that one is available I'd tend to think others are.

If its a minor leak could you switch it on once a week and flush some water through it?

I just realised that's for the wrong make. Uniflo not Saniflo. My mistake. Sorry.
Still there are companies advertising repairs online. I'd at least ask around.

The only problem you may have is if it's still connected to the drain & it dries out then you may get smells
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.
