Sofa MUCH later than suggested - my rights?

Hi all,

I've just moved into a new build home and purchased my sofa 12 weeks ago.
Whilst searching for a Sofa one of my criteria was specifically to buy from a retailer that could deliver before my moving date... Harveys Furniture stated on the website (and by the sales rep in store) that they will be able to deliver mid June.

It's now moving date and I've not even received a text or email from them with an update... its been almost 3 months...

I know that Sofas can take a very long time to build/deliver - but bearing in mind I bought from Harveys on the promise they could deliver before my move date, wondered if I'm entitled to anything?

I've called them three times for an update and they say the same thing every time - "It's with our suppliers" and they cant provide an update - will be in touch ASAP.

See what your paperwork says and whether you can cancel and order elsewhere without penalty.

Other than that, it's a waiting game. You're not entitled to compensation if that's what you're suggesting.

Is there anything on the order stating a firm delivery date? If not, it's going to be your word against the shop regarding what was or was not promised. If they have failed to meet an agreed delivery date you should be able to cancel and go elsewhere. The problem with that is you are starting from the beginning again.
