What help is there for working dialysis patients?

A mate has recently started dialysis. He’s always worked, is a good father of 6, but these last few years have been a nightmare for him. Firstly a breakup, so he had to move out, and then his kidneys packed up. Recently he’s had to move in with his mom, and now his car has packed up.
His employer has moved his shift to accommodate dialysis, but you can see he’s knackered, and very unhappy.
I’ve recently had a mate hang himself due to his own situation, so Id like to try to find out what help is actually out there for people in this situation, as he’s a proud man, and he won’t do it himself.
