Acorn stairlift

Hello,
Hoping someone here can help!
My gran has a 2nd hand acorn stairlifts superglide 120. The batteries are now running low in it so need replacing. After a few searches I think I know what batteries are needed however I wanted to double check with acorn to make 100% sure we got the correct ones. After going back and forward a few times regarding the account holder (not applicable) I got this reply:
Due to our accreditation's, we are unable to provide technical information to the untrained personnel.
Unfortunately, until being provided with a serial number we are unable to help.
If you are able to give the serial number we are more then happy to try and assist you further.
They won’t provide me with confirmation on the batteries. I assume as soon as I provide them with a serial number they will try to get one of their engineers to install the batteries (from further research this has cost people in the region of £400-500). Surely they are able to tell me the battery type they use, it seems crazy they can withhold this information?
Can anyone help if you’ve experienced this before?
Thanks

I have done a very quick search and it seems that there are a few very standard battery sizes, the same footprint/size for this type of application.
You could follow this video here to reveal the battery characteristics on yours and be sure that the spec is correct however it looks like its 2 x 12V batteries rated at 6 or 7Ah that are required.

If you read the comments below the video there are lots of people posting messages of thanks as the manufacturer batteries are so expensive.
Alternatively a quick search on Amazon and clicking on the seller information shows these two UK companies - you could call them to confirm then order on Amazon

Hope this helps
PS - its probably this item that you require - 2 x batteries total around £30
