Plague of Whitefly

I have the above both in my greenhouse and outside. I am getting some natural predators for the greenhouse but I don't know what to do outside.

Any ideas for a safe (preferably organic) way of getting rid of whitefly on crops outdoors?

A weak solution of washing up liquid in a sprayer will do the job or SB plant invigorator is a really good all rounder

plant some marigolds amongst your other plants.
  • I use a weak washing up liquid solution too, mainly in the greenhouse, and found it works. However, don't forget to spray both sides of the leaf. You probably will also have to spray every couple of days. It works on greenfly too

I admit that outside I only spray plants where the problem is being particularly persistant, and leave Mother Nature to sort things out, which she usually does after a couple of weeks. Also, make sure there are a variety of plants in your garden to attract the predators in.

For the future you can buy ladybird grubs and ladybirds and put them where you have any form of aphids.
