You got to Florida for less than £175 return during school holidays ?
AND you got flights and 10 days at a good All-Inclusive in Barbados for less than £90 a day ?

I think you've been whooshed! I said the prices aren't cheap, a few million to go to the moon might be unbeatable, doesn't mean it's cheap :rotfl:

Anything over £500pp for a week isn't a cheap holiday IMO. You can easily get a decent holiday destination in the school holidays under £500 a week IME, even if you're lazy enough to only look at packages.

If you want to travel half way round the world, then you're unlikely to get a cheapie, last minute or not. But for AI, does destination even really matter, as long as it's hot? We saw a superluxury AI place in Turkey with a butler for about £900pp, and that was in the school holidays (May half term)!

For long haul it really isn't worth going for just a week or 10 days, as the flight cost becomes the significant factor, plus travel time and jet lag etc. I'm sure you could easily go to places like the Caribbean or SE Asia for well under £500pp per week provided you stay a decent length of time eg 3 weeks plus.

Funnily enough yesterday I booked a week on Rhodes leaving this Friday with Jet2.
They were offering £100pp off and we got the last two seats.
Just over a grand for two people.

Depending on board basis and class of hotel, this may be as cheap as you say it is or it may not be.

And if it is AI, I'd need to read the reviews to decide if it was a great deal or not.
FTR, we've booked 2 weeks self catering in Kos for just under £1k for 2 people including 20kg luggage, transfers and flights from a local airport.
We'll probably spend another £1k on eating out for the 2 weeks and it will be where, when and what we want to eat, not in a AI buffet hotel.
We booked a couple or 3 weeks before travel.
And there were cheaper deals available but for personal reasons they did not suit.

    Yes.
We spent 3 weeks in Bali last October in a lovely small hotel with great flights from MAN on Singapore Airlines for just over £2k for 2 pax.
B&B of course, but who wants to go AI to Bali?
    Well, certainly not me. :D
