Safety Gloves for Heat Paint Removal

Hi,

I’m going to be stripping some paint with a heat gun and I’m looking for some gloves to wear to protect my hands. I’m not at all sure what I’m looking for though and there are so many options!!

Can anyone recommend any for me please? Either the name/brand/type..and links would be much appreciated too.

Thanks in advance.

Any good thick garden/work gloves, not that i think you really need any at all.

    Thank you!

I wasn’t sure if I needed them, I just assumed so after seeing them on some videos I watched when looking for tips on getting the best results.

I was concerned they’d make me clumsy and potentially cause more damage!!:rotfl:

Leather welding gauntlets aren't particularly expensive, don't catch fire, don't restrict movement, protect forearms and can withstand more heat (including sparks of molten metal) than a heat gun gets anywhere near.

I also recommend using either cheap PU or disposable gloves. Depending on the task at hand.

That sound like excellent advice. Any idea where we could buy some ? Don't suppose you can recommend any good websites that sell gloves ? Oh, hang on ..... your own homepage looks pretty good, think I'll take a look there :-)

And yes, I do realise this thread is a few months old, and has simply been resurrected by a spammer. But if it's any help, I recently bought myself some of these for general use : https://www.screwfix.com/p/site-kf110-premium-rigger-gloves-yellow-black-large/155fr#_=p

I don't think you can complain about the price, and they do the job perfectly well. If they only last a few months, I ain't complaining - though they seem reasonably rugged.

For use with a heat gun? Stupid.
