I have tried walking around to get a better signal and it is weird, at the moment it is 4 bars and I am sitting in my usual place, yesterday it was 1 bar and wifi dropped and even disconnected several times, this morning it was low.

That suggests something is interfering with the signal. Try changing channels.

    ^^^ I agree.

Could be another wifi, other transmissions or even a microwave oven!

Wifi analyser should help to find the best channel but you need to be looking when the problem is evident maybe as well as in good periods.

Just to say the wifi signal been around 3 to 4 bars (half cresent circles) got to 4.45 and wham dropping so moved it and got back up to two, I really think it is diluted by other users as mostly evening and weekends. It is on channel 11 am going to try another number 1 or 6 were suggested.

    Otherwise try wifi analyser.

Well things are moving on with this - seems the phone line has a problem, Open reach missed an appt which was annoying and no text to say couldn't make it, just the one to say they were coming!

    Not amused but another arranged.
I would ditch BT tomorrow if not in contract but to be honest the problem would just go onto another provider.

Also it on channel 11 and actually on wifi on a Sunday afternoon

Sounds like you have at least two separate problems.
You may well have a phone line problem but that should not affect the wifi signal strength!!
It may will affect all communications in that if your home to exchange line has a problem (WAN: Wide Area Network) then all your comms will be affected but the wifi signal should still stay high but just not work like the rest of your connected devices (LAN: your Local Area Network) that relies on the broadband be they cable or wirelessly connected.

The analyser app will tell you about the wifi signal (and any interference) but not your WAN connection.

It allows other BT customers to use your router as a WiFi hotspot, and use a small portion of your broadband, if you allow it to be so.

If you sign up, you also get to use others' hotspots and WiFi

    Thank you

How do I sign up for it?

Can others access my files etc?

Even though I feel I am very safe here as I would seen if someone was logging on as my signal does not even cover all the house and that is with Home hub 6
