I have a Yaris Hybrid (and an Auris Hybrid tourer). The CVT does take some getting use to but then I think all auto's do.
If you do look at the Yaris hybrids make sure they've had the annual hybrid battery check which extend the battery warranty by a year and 10,000 miles until the car has been on the road for 11 years.0 -
You can get one on a £3k budget.0

Honda Jazz Auto would be my suggestion plenty around the 3k0

I think something from Kia or a Toyota Yaris would be a good option.0

The Kia Picanto and its sister Hyundai i10 autos both come with long warranties and reliable traditional torque converter gearboxes. They seem to be well thought of by motoring journalists, but don't expect sparkling performance.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0

If you can charge at home and don't do too many miles then look at a used Nissan Leaf or the smaller Renault Zoe. Both are electric and will save you a fortune in fuel, not to mention being very reliable (almost nothing to go wrong, no gearbox, no spark plugs, no oil, no radiator, no exhaust etc.) and very nice to drive.0

Don't bother with a Smart Car. They are the biggest waste of money ever.
Since then, (and if you aren't bothered about a load of boot space) I have always had a Pegueot 107 or my latest, which is a Toyota Aygo.
Both of them come with a semi automatic gear box. You can drive it fully auto, or if you prefer, you can change gears manually, but there is no clutch.
You can pick up either 2nd hand easily for your budget. And the insurance is quite cheap too.BEST EVER WINS WON IN ORDER (so far) = Sony Camcorder, 32" lcd telly, micro ipod hifi, Ipod Nano, Playstation 3, Andrex Jackpup, Holiday to USA, nintendo wii, Liverpool vs Everton tickets, £250 Reward Your thirst, £500 Pepsi, p&o rotterdam trip, perfume hamper, Dr Who stamp set, steam cleaner.
