HSBC credit card transactions

I have recently received and start using my new HSBC credit card (last time I had one there was no online banking available).
I am however a bit annoyed that transactions takes about two days or more to appear on my mobile app, and there are no “pending” transactions reported. Is this the norm or only due to the account being new?
Many thanks

Don't know the answer to your question but it is important to note that not all transactions will show as 'pending'. This can only happen if the retailer seeks authorisation from your card issuer at the time of the purchase. If they don't (because the transaction is below their Floor Limit, for example) your card issuer will not know you've made the purchase until the transaction clears a day or two later.
You could keep all your receipts in order to keep track - or if that sounds too much like something your granddad would do, then record your purchases in a spreadsheet - that could then be used as a budgeting tool.0 -
Thanks, but I was not looking at a way to track my spending more an understanding on how HSBC works. In the last few years I have put most of my spending through the Lloyds Avios Duo (managed to do two return business class trip to New York between Avios and upgrade vouchers) as well as various Amex and both show the transaction either immediately (Amex also send a nice alert through Apple Pay) or as pending (not only if these were traditional “pending” transaction, for example income payment to Lloyds would show as pending on the day made and cleared the following day).
Due to the recent changes to the Lloyds Duo, and the stop to Amex churning for bonus points, I got an HSBC Premier World Elite and in the first few days have tried all sort of transactions but none would show immediately or even a day later... There has been at least a two day gap (and I am not including week end transactions).Terry_Towelling wrote: »Don't know the answer to your question but it is important to note that not all transactions will show as 'pending'. In short, HSBC credit card does not show pending transactions, only the available limit is updated. I find it very annoying.0

That's really quite poor from them, especially with other banks giving instant notifications etc.0 -
HSBC and FD are stuck in the 70s with their legacy systems. Compare with instantaneous updaring like eg Tandem, even when abroad.0

Thanks, but it is not only the lack of pending transactions that is annoying, but more importantly that it takes at least two days for these to appear/post. I also had a business account for over 13 years and a bank account for two years or so with them but other than ATM transaction that looks to post virtually immediately, I never experienced this sort of delay..
In the recent past I have used mostly Lloyds, Amex, MBNA (which had some delays on the old platform) and Barclaycard and I guess I got used to a much better experience0
