Working tax credits overpaid

If someone has been he has been overpaid the above and the debt collection agency has been advised
Even if the person was working under an umbrella thus was getting an hourly rate at the time he was getting the tax credit?
And the person has been working full time since last October his wife is on minimum wage and work the hours set by the government
He has asked for a form to dispute the charge but still waiting for it
But they have started to take payment via DD by a collection agency
What can the person do as he as also been advised half will be paid by the wife
Why it has taken over 8 months for them to spot this
They give benefits to people not paid a single amount of NI or tax as soon as they get off the plane
Any help for this friend would help as cash is tight

Sorry, your post is gobbledegook and you jump from one ideology to another. Can I suggest you use full stops and punctuation, it sort of makes the post easier to read.
Are you saying your friend received working tax credit, now they're not entitled to it, they've informed HMRC and they want all the money paid to date back?0
