Someone PMed me about replacement cartridges for this, so I'll add the answer here too.
They are not any more expensive than most other printers. The PG40 (black) is about £10, CL41 (colour) about £14.0 -
Cheaper if you buy at PC World with 5% discount voucher and go thro Quidco, or price match Amazon deal as advertised on Hot UK Deals

We had one of these when they last ran the promotion, very pleased with it so far. We got ours from ebuyer.0

That seems a lot.
I bought a Canon MP130 some time ago on a deal posted here and bought a ton of replacement cartridges at 85p each. They worked fine.
Since then I bought a Brother scanner/fax/printer and cartridges cost me about 2 quid.
It makes a huge difference, even if they are giving a printer away I'm not interested unless there is a supply of cheap third-party cartridges available.
At 10 quid a go I'd be conscious of the cost every time I printed something. At 85p, who cares!Someone PMed me about replacement cartridges for this, so I'll add the answer here too.

Do Canon still have seperate printheads? These used to be very expensive to replace. HP cartridges have built in printheads - just something to think about.0

where did you get these 85p inks from?? i just bought a canon pixma mp460 all in one for £39.99, from argos, great bit of kit with colour screen etc0 -
PhoenixDirectUK. Remember I am talking about an MP130 not the printer posted here. Anyway I just checked and 7dayshop do a 10 pack (black) for the MP130 for £6.99 and ten pack of colour for 8.99.
Beware though, similarly named models do not necessarily use the same cartridges. For example a friend bought an MP150 and we couldn't find any cheap cartridges (at the time).
You have to do the research and find out the cartridge model numbers.0 -
" BCI24BK is the black ink tank which fits inside the S300 permanent print head."
This is for the MP130, can't comment for other Canon models though I've never seen or heard of print heads being advertised.Do Canon still have seperate printheads? These used to be very expensive to replace. HP cartridges have built in printheads - just something to think about.0 -
Or £5.63 if you get someone at pcworld who doesn't know what 10% of the price difference means!!! What a bargain, don't you just love pcworld.0
