Hi guys.
Currently receive ESA & PIP due to Shizophrenia and Anxiety ( on meds for them both ) and have been for a few years.

My financial advocate came round over a month ago to do my " reassessment"

How long on average could I be waiting to hear back ? Advocate mentioned I may have to go to an assessment centre, however he is on holiday for two weeks so cannot ask him

Thanks

Do you mean someone came to help you fill out the review forms? If so then there's no timescales for waiting times. Whether this is for PIP or ESA then the same rules apply. If an assessment is needed then you'll receive a letter in the post with the appointment date/time.

    Thanks for the info :)

Thats correct, my advocate looks after my finances and benefits - he came in beginning of last month ( May ) to do my review.
He did mention I may have to go to an assessment centre which would be fine providing it's not too busy and small.

So shall I just wait and see if they want me to go in for an assessment ? I heard it could take up to 16 weeks to get a response after the review questionnare !
It's the worst thing ever having anxiety and having to wait so long for something so important.

From what I can recall, the first 16 questions were a no, and three of the final 16 questions were a yes.

Also provided contact details of my psychiatrist and GP

There's no timescale. It depends on backlog in your area.

They very rarely contact anyone for any evidence so please don't rely on them doing that.

You haven't said which benefit this is for, PIP or ESA?

    ESA :j .

If I have to go for a face to face assessment i'd rather do it sooner than later, as waiting whilst you have anxiety is not a good combination

I had my ESA50 completed by someone over the phone on 20th March, it is with the Dr & I haven't heard anything more yet

Unfortunately, there's not much you can do about the backlogs. It's difficult for everyone that's waiting, even for those that don't suffer anxiety.
