Can I contest the ombudsman?
Comments

Thank you for your comments but I still contest the impartiality of the Financial Ombudsman or any other resource initiated by Parliament.
I know of at least 6 claims very similar to mine which were paid out without even having the paperwork ,These claims were made much earlier to mine and I state again that there could be a decline in the paying out of justified claims as we are fast approaching the August deadline. Dont forget the banks have already paid out billions and who repays the banks? Three guesses.0 -

The Banks will continue to pay out huge amounts for "similar" complaints right up until the August deadline (and beyond for those who complain very late).
Your complaint was rejected some time ago anyway, so even if the Banks had run out of money (they haven't) your accusation does not even apply to your own complaint. :eek:0 -

How's your 'Court action against the Financial Ombudsman' progressing? You've not been back to the thread you started on that topic.0 -

The uphold rate by the FOS for PPI has been declining for some time. Mainly as more people try-it-on without having a valid case. You are effectively getting the dregs now.
Plus, over time, opinions change and new information comes to light. All quite normal and to be expected.I know of at least 6 claims very similar to mine which were paid out without even having the paperwork
A number of banks/providers had a floor limit in place where they would auto-payout without question if the amount involved was below that value. During the peak, the floor limits could be quite high. They would drop as the volume reduced.
Plenty of people have had auto-payouts. Maybe millions of people.0 -

Speaking from experience.....The FOS will overturn decisions made by a firm if they believe it is correct to do so. Speaking from experience again directly with FOS, I believe that they are impartial. Obviously I cannot give any details, but I have always found they look at the facts and the evidence and their decisions are based solely on this. Sometimes they find in favour of the customer, sometimes not.
Just because you disagree with their decision, does not mean that they have any other motives!
If you took something to court (Government funded?) you wouldn't expect to win every time. A judge or jury would consider any evidence provided and would make a decision on that. Its the way that these things work.
I would respectfully suggest moving onI work in Data Protection and spend my days dealing with CMC's. Only here trying to help!!0 -

Me for one. I have to pay partial costs for every spurious claim in the last 10-15 years with no tick box to opt out.
I've had many mortgages in the last 45 years and I know I had only one PPI product which paid out handsomely when needed. Now I'm stuck paying for speculative complaints from people who 'can't remember jack shit about who they were contracted with but remember and insist they had PPI. Roll on September.0
