Beko DW80323 Dishwasher Problem

I have a six year old Beko DW80323 Dishwasher that's just suffered it's first major fault - it doesn't work!

When switching on any of the programmes, the drain pump just keeps on running. The drain pump is working OK (if i pour more water into the dishwasher, the water is pumped away) - it's just that it's not switching to the next part of the cycle.

So I'm guessing there must be some kind of sensor that detects when the water is drained such that it can move into the next cycle and start filling. So it could be a sensor fault or some other problem with the control electronics.

Has anybody had any luck fixing this type of problem or knows where the sensor is fitted (or more to the point, how to I get at it to check/replace).

Any help would be much appreciated.

There's a flood switch [sensor] which is now "on" due to a water leak, hence the tipping back "cures" it. Not sure of precise switch location but it is down low, no doubt You Tube has something

Many thanks psychic teabag (and respect - if you googled that then I'd like to know how you found it - none of my searches revealed anything useful!).

I'll give it a try tomorrow morning and see if it's the same problem.

Often the base of the machine is like a plastic bowl. If water collects in there a polystyrene float will rise & operate a micro switch which turns on the pump. You usually have to lay the machine on its side or back for the water to drain out. It will then work fine again until the base fills up again. That could be tomorrow, several months hence or never.

Or it could be a totally different problem.

Thanks for the response guys but unfortunately its a big fat Nah!

It's not the flood sensor . Took the bottom cover off and checked the micro switch in the flood sensor and it all look fine. Everything also looked dry so I can't see it being anything to do with that.

So, before I assume it's a control electronics fault, does anybody know if there are other sensors that are used to signal that the dishwasher has drained?
