Parking Charge Limited and Trace Debt Recovery

Options
Hi,

My husband received a private parking ticket back in April from parking charge limited.

They sent two letters and it has now been passed to trace debt recovery uk limited. He received one letter form them yesterday asking for £160 (original fine was £100 reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days)

What is the likelihood of being taken to court over a small parking fine? What is the best option - to contact the debt company and dispute, to contact the original parking company and dispute or to ignore?

Appreciate any help given as I don't want his credit score to be effected.

Thanks

Emma

IGNORE TRACE, they have no business in this.

The add-on of £60 is a scam. Read this, it's a decision of a District Judge recently about this £60 scam. Her kicked the case out as ABUSE OF PROCESS

No credit score problem, this only happens if it goes to court, you lost (very remote) and did not pay.

Debt collectors as a rule, tend to talk rubbish, no different with Trace.

NOW, you just wait to see what the PPC does. Then come back here

Why did you/he ignore it? That's not been the advice here since 2013! Could have been appealed and won at POPLA fairly easily. Too late now.

    No contacting any debt firm.

Wait for the Letter before Claim (see NEWBIES thread second post). Keep all letters and get some current photos of the signage in the car park as evidence.

Well, as long as he doesn't ignore court papers, directions or deadlines in due course, there is no chance of that even if he loses in court. This is what we do every day, help people to win court defences and 99% do, and even those who lose just pay what the Judge says - no CCJ remains, not even a smudge. There is NO risk.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
