Tesco being generous?

Options
I use this to get Tesco points and whenever I spend on it, I generally stick money on it via internet banking. This can be up to 10 times a month.

Last week, or the week before, I put over £300 on it. Whilst this has come out of my bank once, it appears on my online Tesco statement twice! Which is great, but I was just wondering, how long are they likely to take to find their mistake? Is there a chance they won't? How long before I can spend the money? Teehee. I know there probably ain't a chance of this!

  • Why do you do it 10 times a month?
Why not take advantage of the interest free period by sticking it in a savings account and pay once a month?

Erm, thanks for your answer. I do it my way because it works for me. It helps me keep track of my money. If I spend on cc, I like to pay it off pretty much straightaway in case

    1. bf spends the money he sees in the joint acc even though it's reserved for cc, or

    2. in case I forget to pay before the statement comes and end up paying interest.

But anyways, anything on my original question?

  • They probably will notice it, and by law they can claim it back, as it's their money. Which is a shame!

Thanks for that. Figured they would notice it eventually. Guess it saves me on interest while I'm in credit with my cc, eh?

  • Read this post via your post on the Tesco thread about Tesco taking too many payments! Good luck to you if you keep it but be careful they don't whip it (and more) back. I'm not going to judge or grumble about what you have written like a certain person did on the other thread!
