Hi All,
I signed up to the Credit Club a few weeks ago to try and get some advice and guidance on my credit scores. I have a near perfect score on my Experian file yet the old Noddle and Clear Score sites show me as POOR!!
Anyway, I joined up to see if I can work out why that is only to see my score on the Credit Club site come back as POOR as well!!!
Has anyone had a similar experience that could offer some advice or answer the main question which is: HOW ON EARTH - Can my Experian website show a score of 996 yet Credit Club shows 646!?:mad::mad:

It doesn't matter as a lender neither sees nor uses your credit score.
Have you got any negative data on your credit files?

Because it’s not real.
Sign up again with a different email address and you’ll get a whole other score.
Just pick the one you like and admire it from afar.
Lenders don’t see, care about or use the CRA generated scores0 -
Focus on the history on your file.
Any negatives ?
Is the data from all 3 reference agencies all correct ?0 -

If you look at all three they have a section dedicated to the scores and say what the highest is for each one.
A high score means nothing, bankrupts have 999. A low score means nothing, an average score means nothing. Financial institutions use their own internal criteria when assessing applications.
It's the credit history you need to look through to make sure that information is correct.
Also, not all institutions report too each CRA.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -

That is, indeed, bizzarre, as MSE Credit Club uses Experian, and it should be the same. The only thing I can think of is, MSE Credit Club is done only once per month, whereas Experian (the paid version) is instant. Noddle and Clear Score are connected to other CRAs, so they might differ.
Please, download your current Experian statutory report and inspect it closely. Let us know if you find anything "off" (like, being dropped from the ER, CIFAS frauds, etc).Your cholesterol levels are not seen, or used, by your heart and arteries, so ignore it.

Not bizarre.
Just more proof the CRA scores are complete twaddle0 -
I know people say that the scores are meaningless but they do seem to change when the underlying data changes which suggests that the number the CRAs give you is somehow affected by the information in your report so they are only meaningless in the sense that only the CRA and subject see the number and not third parties.
I tend to have a quick look at the number each month from all 3 and if it hasn't changed I don't worry too much about the underlying data (check in detail twice yearly); if the number does change then I look more closely to see why (usually I will know that a full search has been done or an account has been added).
One thing I did notice was that Transunion and Equifax seem to look at utilisation differently to Experian, the former seems to look at utilisation on a card by card basis whereas the latter seems to look at utilisation across the total available credit so that could explain it. I recently paid for a holiday on one card that took it to around 60% utilisation and my scores dropped on TU & Efx whereas Exp wasn't affected. This was one of those unexplained/unexpected score drops that had me checking the reports in more detail. The scores went back to the previous level the following month as the bill had been paid and utilisation doesn't seem to have a memory.0 -
Utilisation isn’t a real bad factor, only for “score” improvement purposes.
My score varies month to month with no changes to accounts other than credit card balances but they’re paid off in full each month so the reported statement balance and utilisation rate don’t bother me at all0
