Bush CD8TDW tumble dryer

Hi all,

looking for some help, my Bush CD8TDW tumble dryer has stopped heating up now, it doesn't have any in built reset button and have cleaned filter and condensor and emptied water but still no joy, so it seems like the thermostat has gone or possibly the heating element. Tried bush support but they are less than useless and refer you back to Argos who havent been much help. I am struggling to find the part which I have uploaded a picture of. Anyone able to confirm which Thermostat it is? The full number listed on the side is 36TXE16 561483 L175C Z1612.

Uploaded a picture of the thermostat, hope this works.

Any help appricated.

    That's the safety cutout.
Have you got continuity between the two electrical contacts?
If yes then it is OK.
If no, push the red button to reset.
If the cutout has operated, then there is problem elesewhere, probably the main thermostat.

I'm afraid this won't help much but Bush is basically an Argos own brand product, they carry the license rights to the Bush name.

I have a Bush vacuum cleaner, it needs new filters (have tried washing them but no improvement) I spent days trying to source the parts, being passed round and round different people, having Argos staff saying 'contact the manufacturer' and didn't seem to understand Argos were the manufacturer... in the end I gave up. Once I find a replacement, an otherwise perfectly workable vacuum will be consigned to landfill because Argos would not provide the parts needed...utterly shameful.

Will check to see once im back cheers, would the main thermostat most likely be at the front of the dryer?

If it uses a simple mechanical type of thermostat, then it would most likely be near the cutout (and should have continuity when cold).
It could, however, use a temperature sensor and allow the control board to switch the heating element.
