“Related Meter” - Scottish Power
Hi,
I’ve come here today to try and find honest answers as I’m losing the will to live, after the stress me and my partner are going through regarding getting a standard direct debit meter installed, or even a smart meter. I’ve been on the phone for the last 4 weeks since we moved in and the hassle we’ve had and lies we’ve been told has been unbelievable. I’ve recently found out that on our meter has a “Day” rate and “Night” rate, along with an extra MPAN that cant be live as it hasn’t changed since I took over the house from the previous owner. I’ve been told this is a complex / related meter. I have been passed back and forth from Scottish Power to Actavo the third party smart meter installers on behalf of SP, making me Business As Usual appointments which seem to bounce back and always get cancelled. Apparently SP say it’s because Actavo haven’t updated me on their system as the new owner so no flow appointment can be made, yet Actavo blame SP for not sending them the correct details. I’ve been told my meter isn’t eligible for a smart meter, yet SP have made multiple bookings for me to be let down, told lies about my area isn’t ready for them, or the meters aren’t in stock. I’m at my breaking point and want some honest answers regarding this. Me and my partner want a standard meter put in, not with these extra MPANS that are not in use which also holds us from even switching to any other supplier in the big 5.
Please any feedback would be much appreciated and thank you for taking time to read this.

This sort of question comes up fairly often. This one is quite good with info on how to rid yourself of belonging to this Eco 10, two meter club where there are few suppliers who can support it .So top prices are the result. Eco 7 is the way to much lower prices with far lower competitive prices

Thanks for the reply. So for the record does it sound like I have an Eco 7 or 10 meter? On my recent bill my MPAN serial numbers begin with 02 which suggests it’s an Eco 7.0

Now being told on the national database I have a complex meter/ 2 meters, which I can only see one. Is there anyone who can tell me more info regarding my meter what type it is, how many terminals, circuits, meters there actually is it I was to post a photo.
Thank you0
