I have an Epson Workforce Pro WF-3725 printer that demanded a software update. Unfortunately the wifi update fialed and now th printer has gone in to "Restore Mode", and it will do nothing. Epson have told me it needs a service but I cannot find anyone who services printers. It worked fine until the update - does anyone know how to reboot or reinstall the necessary software. (I have tried deleting the printer settings and reinstalling but the pc cannot find the printer now). I don't want to throw it away and sbuy a new printer because it's wasteful and I also have a load of very expensive ink! Help....

According to https://www.wic.support/my-epson-printer-is-stuck-in-recovery-mode-how-to-solve/ you can download a "firmware recovery tool" from epson site and use that to restore the printer.
epson themselves have this page : https://www.epson.eu/viewcon/corporatesite/products/mainunits/faq/5733 which also mentions a firmware updater tool
It says you'll need to connect the printer using a usb cable for the procedure (which is not unreasonable).0 -
I've tried the quick fix which doesn't work, and Epson say it needs a service as it was corrupted, but I can't find anyone to service it. I will try the cable and see if I can re-install anything.0

Generally the flash will contain a minimal bootstrap region (similar to the bios on a pc, I guess) which will verify that the main image is correct then jump to it, else go into something akin to a recovery mode. SInce the main image failed to flash during the upgrade, only this bootstrap code is valid.
Because the bootstrap code doesn't have the ability to download new firmware updates, you have to "service" the printer which basically means flashing a new image manually, by some other means. Going via usb is not unreasonable - the bootstrap code will have the ability to receive an image via usb and flash it as a main image.0
