Benefits and death grant

My soul mate died at end of Feb and I got a £17k death grant off his pension. Will this affect any benefits I may be able to claim? I am working, but pay goes to zero on 3 July. If it does, what can I do with it wisely cos never had any money like this.

Also got a home PIP assessment tomorrow but I'm on my own as CAB missed my messages, so any help would be welcomed. I am really worried about it as it is likely to be my main income until 19/06/230

Why is your pay going to zero in July? Do you currently receive any benefits?
If you have capital over £16,000 you will not be able to claim any means tested benefits (assuming you are below state pension age).Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0
