Quick Quid

I wrote to all my creditors last month to let them know I was changing my DMP from Step Change to self managed. Most replied accepting my proposals apart from Vanquis and Quick Quid. I logged into to Quick Quid today and the loan is showing as "paid off" I though I still owed about £140. Do you think they have written it off? I have not had any correspondence for months since they rejected my irresponsible lending complaint

It could just be they have sold the debt to a collection agency. If they have your up to date address they should inform you of this.

I did wonder about that but I would have thought it would still be on my credit report as owing?

If it has been sold on it may show up as owing to the new owner.

It’s been sold, the new creditor will, in time, take over reporting of it, and contact you.

They don’t just write off debt for no reason especially without telling you.

Wear as selling debt on without telling you is common place lol

That's what I thought. I just thought whoever bought the debt would have written by now.

I can no longer access the email account that I set up the loan with so it is possible there have been emails, however I did have correspondence with them using my current email address when I submitted the irresponsible lending complaint.

I guess I just wait until the DCA gets in touch and then start paying them like my other creditors.

Eventually they will write to you, quick quid usually sell to Lantern, but any debt buyer could have bought it, it will have been sold as part of a portfolio, containing many thousands of accounts, that’s why it takes time to contact you.

  • If you have the account details just give them a ring and ask? Saves leaving yourself wondering what’s happening.

It's usually better to leave anything with companies you have debts with in writing - otherwise you potentially on the way to them hassling you on the phone as they then see that as a route of contact they can use.
