    As you say it's trivial so why worry about it?

    Thanks for the replies. I should probably have added some context to this. The covenant is dated 1979, and both neighbours have added extensions and modifications to the property.

    The property has changed hands a few times since and I cannot find any reference to the original vendors.

    We do want to extend at some point, but as both neighbours have set a precedent and there is no obvious company to ask permission from, I’m guessing we’d be ok if we get planning.

    I’m waiting for a response from our solicitor on what we should do.
