OP asked for an opinion, I gave it. Sorry if it offended you.
I'm with you - A dark grey across an entire wall is not my cup of tea either. That said, I've done the chimney breast in my lounge in black (polished plaster) and the walls in a pale cream. Another room is matt black, but that is for practical reasons in line with what the space is used for.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

To be fair, I asked for an opinion on the blinds not the walls, but it doesn't bother me. I'm sure my choice is not everyones cup of tea, much like other peoples choices are not mine.
The wall looks a bit darker in the pic than it does in reality, but I really like it.0 -

Dungeon? :cool:0 -
I am looking for some art, but the blinds come first. Plenty of art on Etsy in grey/mustard that I really like the look of, which will be framed and hung about the fireplace.
I would actually turn that on it's head and buy the piece art you like first and then look for blinds which are a good match to the main colour in the artwork. Dunelm has a very wide range of colour options for blinds.0 -

Absolutely. The overall effect is rather dark, although I love the feature wall.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.

If anyone is interested, I went with the dark grey in the end and am very pleased with my choice.
And artwork has been purchased and hung as well

As long as you like it, enjoy it. Might not be everyone's cup of tea, but we don't all have the sames likes & dislikes.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

I'd go for mustard for the blinds and have a third colour or gold (alongside the grey and mustard) for the artwork. This will stop it being too cave-like and dark. A dramatic resin art abstract would look fab on that wall or maybe something like this from John Lewis:

Edited to add that one's a bit big but it gives an idea. Etsy will have lots of interesting abstracts.somewhere between Heaven and Woolworth's0 -
I'm guessing you didn't see the update before replying

OMG, is that pic massive for anyone else, as it is fine for me0
