PPI Claim Started in 2013 But Never Completed

Options
I started a number of PPI claims through a Claims Company back in 2013 but never progressed as they could not locate my accounts (so they said) but could have been because I have lived in quite a number of different locations since 2000 and at the time I couldn't remember all of them, but now I have compiled the list.

I would also mention that I no longer have use of the accounts and they are with a Debt Management Company - I am aware that any refund will be offset against my debt, which is fine.

I am unclear on a few points:

1) For one Barclaycard account, I received a letter which only referenced the last 4 digits of my card, to say that they could not find a policy in my name so could not uphold the claim. They added that if I had the policy document or policy number I should send it to them.

If I now write to them with my name and all my remembered addresses should they tell me the account number? If I were to submit another claim now, would this count as a NEW claim or should it be done as Plevin?
Also given this was done back in 2013, would the Claims company expect a share of any payment?

2) For the other credit cards I had, it never got as far as receiving a letter stating they could not find my account as they were requesting information I could not give them at the time. If I was to submit another claim would this count as a NEW claim or should it be done as Plevin?

3) Given how close we are to the deadline, is it still worth contacting the banks/lender with the PPI Template Letter? If I were to send off the letters say by 21 June then the responses would come back within 40 working days i.e. by 16th August which only leaves just under 2 weeks to file any PPI complain? Is there still time to do this?

Thanks in advance!

If you have already complained they will probably time bar it

If you don't have any evidence of a policy now, how are you expecting them to find evidence now?

You can only make a Plevin complaint if your account was active in the period applicable (post 2008)

You can try and complain now, so long as it's put before the deadline then you're fine, it doesn't have to be resolved before that

Realistically though, the fact they have no evidence of your account and the fact you have no evidence, not sure how you think it will progress?

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Can’t answer all your questions but this might help. It sounds like Barclaycard have already got your full account number, they just don’t print it.

I would send them a SAR through their website to see what they can find now. If they still ask for a PPI policy number you could write to the business who took over from Barclays Insurance Dublin, the new underwriter is called Monument Re.

Have you contacted the debt management company because they might have some useful information on the other lenders you had PPI with?
