that does look clean. I say if it is within your statutory rights period to send it back.

However I'd be inclined to check that fan connector make sure it is plugged in the right way, and no bent pins

as that cpu temp increases, you should hear the fan speed increase too?

you do feel hot air blowing out of the psu and case fans? the motherboard seems to be GA-F2A55M-DS2 type

Hopefully it is badly overclocked, rather than being duff. Here is the manual. page 23 onward are the bios settings. Before you change any settings write down before you change it. Also before changing anything look at p40 and save the current profile - make multiple copies.

Stupid question- which way is that fan on the cooler turning?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

That looks remarkably similar to a motherboard I had (I can't find the exact model now but it was a Gigabyte and an FM2+ model).

I had the same processor as well but I had no end of trouble with the configuration, to the point where it completely fell over and no matter what I tried I could not get Windows 10 back on it, so I could only presume it had developed a board problem.

So in the end I scrapped it and managed to get a good deal on some Ryzen parts instead. Not a problem since.

I thought that too. It looks like there is as on the bottom of the board as per pic, there is a bunch or red black blue cables which seem to emanate from the external fan socket on the m'board and go towards the "prep by" and "built by" stickers. Also very similar cables go to the cpu fan.

The fans could be the wrong way, and effectively canceling each other out.
