Together Energy

I was switched to Together Energy when my previous supplier collapsed. The first I knew about this was when I noticed an unknown DD going out of my account in Dec 2018. I finally ascertained what it related to & contacted Together on 09.01.19 by email having been unable to contact them by phone. I asked why I had received no contact prior to the DD going out for an increased monthly sum especially as the account was in credit. I heard nothing from them until 23.01.19 merely stating that they were looking into my query & respond immediately. By this time, I had already changed supplier to Bulb who took over my account as of 30.01.19. I awaited a final bill from Together within the specifies 6 weeks but nothing was forthcoming despite my contacting them by phone & being promised I would be contacted & a final bill sent out. This evening I have received a call from them demanding the sum of £87 with no explanation or bill. I have now requested this again. Where do I stand in relation to payment or not as I have nothing to go on in terms of meter readings other than when I switched to Bulb?

They have the right to charge you for energy used between the date they were appointed by OFGEM as your energy supplier and the date Bulb took over. You should have received a final bill from One Select sent by email by Together Energy in early-mid February covering your usage up to TE's takeover on 13th December. This was accessed via a link in the email before any accounts were set up.

They will probably have finally issued you a bill, which you should be able to access by going to their website and resetting your password using the email address you used with One Select. I'm in the same situation, but they owe me money, and I only found out a bill existed when I took a complaint to the Energy Ombudsman.

Check your bill carefully. Mine was wrong as it did not carry forward the correct credit balance from One Select.

They are obviously making a concerted effort to chase up ex OS customers' accounts. I had a message left last night to contact them urgently.
I've got thru this a.m - explained that I had raised an objection to the One Select "bill" some three months ago and the calculated credit carried forward. Also pointed out that I had followed up with 3 or 4 emails!!
She confirmed that the objection was recorded in the account notes -but also confirmed that nothing had happened.
Once again, the agent has sent an email to the "department" dealing with One Select accounts - she says she will get back to me once she has further information -wonder if it'll be before Xmas!!
  • Hi, I've literally just come off the phone from Together Energy as I realised I had no bills online past March! Incredibly they say they are 'a bit behind' and that if I'm very lucky, I should get my April bill by the end of June!!!! End of June? for Aprils bill???? I'm a bit concerned they are delaying/hiding billing details in a cynical attempt to retain customers after picking them up from One Select. Anyone else in the same boat? I've complained to them that I can't afford to be in the dark about what we're spending, now awaiting their reply...

Think yourself lucky, I have not had a bill yet at all. Although that could be because I used to get my bills via the post, and have refused to give them an email address as I want the bills in paper format as they are not actually my bills, but the bills of someone else who I sort out the finances for). Had to cancel the direct debits as the doubled them even though I was in credit, so I have not paid anything for 3 months, which should put me about even, and I am due to switch in the next couple of days to a different provider if they dont block it.

I doubt they will block your switch. There's been no evidence of them doing so to those of us who have already left (and it would require a certain level of competence I don't believe they currently possess).

    How true this is.
I got a second call from the debt collectors for one selct asking for me to pay the bill. Still no idea how it isnt paid since I was in credit when together took over, but again, told them I can not pay until I get sight of a bill. Off they trot again to together to ask them to send me a bill out.

I first found out about the one select collapse when together emailed me to say they had lost my data in a security breech...not a great start. My last one select bill was 1st Dec 2018, at which point I was £549 in credit despite me previously asking to reduce the direct debits. Together took over officially on 8th January 2019. I never had a final one select bill, but I did provide meter readings. The tariff was very expensive, so as I was told I could I switched for a better deal on Feb 8th. I suspect Together, who took another £120 off me December 24th (merry xmas!) owe me about £500. All I have so far from them is a complaint number. The answer machine all today says their hours are 10-4 on Saturday...rubbish. My worry is they will be the next company to collapse and the trail to my money gets ever more tortuous.
