How accurate is the PC Calculator? I have put my friends' details into it (at their request) and it says they are entitled to some even though their income is over £255 a week.
I hope they are, because even though it is only a few pounds' worth of PC, the amount they will have deducted from their Council tax will be really helpful.

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

The calculator should be accurate. Whether or not the6 qualify on an income of £255 depends on how their income is made up. Does that include a disability benefit? Are they single/couple?Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0

They are a couple, no disability Benefit.
I have actually put it into the DWP PC and Age UK calculators, they differ by a few £, but each says they are entitled to about £7 PC and the TurntoUs one also says they are entitled to £25 CT benefit.
I hope it's not wrong, I am going to help them apply for it next week and they will be so disappointed if I am wrong.
I don't see what, if anything, I might have done wrong, I have just used figures they have provided for me.
ETA : Could it be anything to do with Savings Credit? They are both older than the qualifying age and have about £7k in savings.
ETA2 I have used the Age UK Calculator again. They are not entitled to Guaranteed Pension Credit but ARE entitled to Savings Credit. It also says they may be entitled to £26.88 a week Council Tax Support. I expect this is due to low income, rather than being automatic as it is with PC. They were not expecting to get anything, so if it is in any way accurate, they will be over the moon
.
