Hi - they could just not have wanted to risk c19 with people traipsing around their house to view it. We are tryingto add value to ours too. We have been focusing outside so far - and have had a very large tree chopped down professionally as well as taken out some smaller ones ourselves. In the house - I want to finish painting the utility at some point and then I have various bits of gloss work I need to finish off around the house. Hope your redecorating plans go well. You seem to be on a roll.

I agree, we're not seeing it as a bad thing necessarily, just a potential delay that we could utilise to build more equity. Even if it isn't relisted, it's forced us to make a decision about where we want to be long term ... silver linings  :)

Good luck with your home improvement journey too!

We've hit the end of another week, although today has been particularly trying with DD1 kicking off again when asked to do maths & English work  :/  We're hitting the point where she's viewing it as an extended summer holiday, I'll try again tomorrow, as otherwise she'll end up getting behind on core subjects.

Food shop done this morning, from a meal plan, £63.59 spent, including a chemist related item and household consumables.

I've managed 2 ebay sales this week, which have been sent out and the money after fees and postage has been swept to my savings ready to contribute towards my PB savings goal for 2020. I've set myself a *very small* earnings target for each day for the rest of this month, and so far have managed to hit it each day via various means. The first bit went to making a £8.75 mortgage OP, and the next few bits and pieces will be going towards my PB savings goal.

Right, I'm off to tuck into my dinner. Stay safe xx

  • @Needhelpsaving my daughter's friend is going into school still as her parents are key workers. She said that they aren't actually doing lessons just babysitting really so the kids at home are getting more of an education than the ones in school. Staff can't be that bothered about them falling behind 🤔 hope that helps relieve some pressure.
Well done on sticking to a meal plan. We need to learn to do this!

Not a great deal going on here, what with staying home and it being the last few days before payday.

I did take some time yesterday to check DD's savings accounts and have opened them both a children's ISA @ 3% interest at the Halifax. I will have to wait 3-8 weeks for each of their accounts to mature at Nationwide and have the interest paid in, before moving their lump sum of savings. I checked out a couple of accounts, including the Halifax regular saver at 4.5%, but as you can only pay in a max of £100 p/m, they will earn more interest on having the lump sum in a different account  B)

    Hi  :)
Payday has come again (queue my ridiculous excitement  :D).

Money meeting has been completed today, last month wasn't too bad, I went over the food budget again, so I need to focus on keeping this within budget, otherwise we were mostly on track with our predicted spends, many of them slightly under what had been anticipated.

We have also made some progress on our long term goals, savings is back to £8k and we've made another mortgage OP (£1150). We're on track to have the 10% allowance paid by end of August and then we'll stack anything else in the savings to make a big OP at the start of 2021 when the 10% resets. We're kind of straddling the line between becoming mortgage free and becoming mortgage neutral.

This week was a good week for additional income, £34.85 cashed out on a survey site (£30 was an online focus group) and 2 ebay sales. All money has been earmarked for xmas savings pot which is currently behind schedule.

Money saving fail - DD2 tipped out and decimated my lettuce seedlings  :#  so much for trying to grow our own!
